Membership

Membership in the Honour Guard of the Imperial House of Sellassie is open to all men and women of good character and unquestionable reputation, regardless of race, rank or faith, age 21 or above. Petitions for membership must be addressed to the Imperial Grand Commander of the Honour Guard, H.G. Chaim d'Avigdor Duke of Acquaviva, and must be accompanied by proofs of good works in favor of this noble corporation and its purposes and ideals. Interested prospective members must also provide a personal CV, and have a favorable personal or phone interview by at least one Knight or Dame of the Honour Guard.

Please note that only application forms sent in by regular mail are handled.

If the Imperial Grand Commander has seen fit to admit the petitioner into the ranks of the Honour Guard, the candidate will be invited to join the annual investiture ceremony of the Honour Guard. Once the candidate has received the brevet and the appropriate insignia confirming his membership and rank, he is henceforth entitled to all rights and privileges thereunto appertaining.

Knights and Dames of the Honour Guard acquire the Imperial Ethiopian nobility by office and carry the prefix "Sir" resp. "Dame" and the postfix "KtB".
